What is MELT?

The MELT Method is a simple self-treatment that empowers you to help your body better, improving the way you move, sleep, and enjoy your life.  It uses specialized foam rollers and rubber balls to stimulate the return of fluid to your connective tissue, while quieting the nervous system and heightening your body awareness. It was developed 20 years ago by Exercise Physiologist and fascial specialist Sue Hitzmann. Today, thousands of dedicated MELTers all over the country and around the world enjoy the profound benefits in reducing injury, promoting healing, and slowing down the aging process.

How does MELT work?

From sitting at a desk, to eating processed foods, to working out at the gym - daily life creates STRESS in our system.  New science reveals that this stress gets trapped in the connective tissue.  That’s a problem because connective tissue supports, protects and stabilizes every muscle, bone, joint, organ and nerve in your body!  Unaddressed, this stuck stress causes cellular dehydration, the source of most common aches and pains, and is a possible precursor to more serious conditions. However, with the gentle techniques of MELT, we can replenish our Neuro-Fascial system and feel better, faster, for longer.

Hi, I’m Edya and I’m here to teach you how to do Self-Care, better.

Most people who take my classes don’t know that I’ve been to India twice to study yoga, or that I have been teaching for more than 20 years. They just know that I help them connect with their bodies in a brand new way, guide them gently and clearly through sequences of MELT and Yoga, and that they float out of the room after class.

In that moment where my students roll over and sit up at the end of class, I can see a new lightness and energy in their faces. They are often incredulous that they can feel this good, that they have less or no pain, that they move so easily and joyfully. They email me the next day to say how great they still feel, or how deeply they slept. They say, “how long will this last?” I say, “learn to do this on your own, take care of yourself consistently, and you can feel this great everyday.”
